My clients often feel comfortable and at home during our sessions. Photography is a huge passion of mine and something that I feel fortunate that I get to do for a living. My clients often become close friends that I cherish and it is a honor to grow and change with them! Now in Raleigh, I bring the small town charm to the world's Biggest Little City. With Nine19, I want to show that being different is awesome and loving yourself is the only way to live. That Oak City Hustle runs deep in my veins!" - Kimberly

Mary is a return client of mine who has become an amazing friend! This year she is turning 30 and decided the best way to celebrate was to document her in all of her glory! We headed over to the North Carolina Museum of Art and let the art speak for her zeal for life. We had awesome time and the weather could not have been any better. Please enjoy these portraits and be sure to wish Mary a very happy thirtieth birthday!
You know those moments when the day is just perfect. Your significant other just looks incredible, your heart is so full it could explode. You just want to capture the moment and bottle it up for the next time your heart needs it. That moment in a film, the sun is setting, the main characters just gaze in each other's eyes, smiling back in forth, hair bouncing in the wind, warm grass at their backs. You know the exact moment I'm talking about, it's always in slow motion with sappy indie music playing in the background. These portraits, they are that moment. My special moment. How lucky am I to be able to freeze them in time?
Nisha, Paul, Louis and their pup Nitro met me at the American Tobacco Campus in Downtown Durham #DURM for their early morning family portrait session. I met the amazing Nisha through her equally amazing sister, Saleisha, who also joined us. I did Saleisha's headshots downtown Raleigh and she made sure that her sister booked with Nine19 Photography too! It was awesome seeing these two sisters interact as well as seeing Nisha's love for the three gentlemen in her life! Paul and Nisha just have such an easy love. You can tell they are best friends as well as lovers. Louis, her son, is such a well rounded young man who loves academia and sports. Of course, there is Nitro, a loving and sweet rescue who clearly adores his people. It was such a pleasure spending time with this amazing group! I cannot wait to continue to document them as they change and grow together!
This family have been with Nine19 Photography since year one! To see how they have changed and grown over the past few years has been an honor to watch. Terry reached out to me about capturing her changing family this holiday season and I was ecstatic. It used to be just four of them with two fur babies (not pictured this year) but now there are three families with two twinning toddler cuties!
You may remember Tina, Trey, Leo, and Athena from the dozens of portrait sessions we have done together. The Stantons are seriously ride or die when it comes to my photography and I am about that life! We started this journey with Leo's announcement on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's (#LETSGODUKE) campus and we decided to go back there for their completed family portraits, a couple of years later. I didn't burn up as soon as I walked onto the campus, so all was well there. We gathered up some epic leaves as student ran from their building to prepare for finals and captured some pretty awesome shots. So much has changed with this family and it has been amazing to go along for the ride. I am so thankful for these four!
Monet and Emerson are new clients of mine and man oh man are they a blast! We met at the world famous Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm in Raleigh NC for a morning holiday portrait session! These two are getting married in a few weeks and their love is evident. The flirtation was unreal. Just watching these two, it was clear they have a magnetism for each other. Monet travels a bit for work and Emerson is in the military, so they miss time together often, but they are proof that absence makes the heart grow fonder! And can we please talk about how these two are clearly ready for the Patagonia catalog! Get ready to swoon over Monet and Emerson's holiday portraits!
Adrianna is my best friend of 13 years and Nate is her best companion. Adrianna saved Nate's life after a negligent human left him for dead on the side of the road. When I first met Nate, he was a tiny pup, I remember him being almost as small as a rat terrier when I first met him and him being deathly afraid of just about everyone. He also had serious skin issues. Adrianna spent years trying to figure out what he was allergic to and well, spoiler alert: EVERYTHING. Nate was on all kinds of meds and because of that, never really had a huge appetite and he slept a ton. Now here he is, 7 years later! Thanks to a miracle medicine, Nate is the handsome pup we always new he could be, he is putting on weight, and is just so incredibly happy. These two, I believe, saved each other and their bond can never be replaced.
Ashley, Eric, Sampson, and their newest addition, Sir Winston joined me at Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm in Raleigh NC for their first Holiday Portrait session as a complete family! These guys are just a good looking group! Winston has been with the family for a couple of months and is learning so much from his brother Sampson. Ashley and Eric are getting married soon and I am just excited about all of it! We had such a great time at the farm! The pups thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife and, of course, the birds. German Shorthaired Pointers, or GSPs, are a hunting and sporting breed and if you look closely at some fo the portraits, these guys are clearly on top of their game.
You all probably remember Jessica and Daniel from October of last year! They got married at the beautiful Studio 215 in Fayetteville NC. In the last year, this gorgeous couple moved to Wilmington NC and purchased their first home together and life couldn't be better! They contacted me about doing their anniversary session through my Client for Life program and really wanted to showcase their new home base. As always, the NC Coastline is something made of magic. We headed out to a couple state parks and soaked in one of the final warm days of this year! Enjoy, Jessica + Daniel! Don't forget to leave them some love in the comment section!
I can't believe that little Leo is 1! I met Leonidas and his very pregnant mama in Burlington to capture this special day! If you follow Nine19 Photography you know that I have captured this cutie from his first taste of oxygen to now, his first birthday! This little guy knows how to pose for the camera and I think it's because his mama has him well groomed! It's been a privilege to watch Leo grow and change so much this past year and I look forward to celebrating him for the rest of his life!
You probably remember Ashley from a number of my portrait sessions in the past! A few months ago we met up for her Bridal Portraits in JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh NC. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Ashley was a stunner in her blush ball gown and definitely drew the attention of onlookers.
Working with so many brides, I find myself having to give out tips on ways to make their wedding days easier on them. I have collected all of these ideas from working with some pretty great companies and recently I got to experience Basic Invite!
Christina and Christopher have to be the sweetest couple I have seen in awhile. I joined them for the Mad Dash Wedding at the Leslie-Alford-Mims House in Holly Springs NC. The way that Christopher looks at Christina just takes your breath away. A man of few words and quiet emotions, his love for her just pours out of him. Christina has clearly found the love of her life in Christopher and these two couldn't be more perfect for each other!
Amanda and Grant are getting married super soon! I was pleased that they chose Nine19 Photography to capture their engagement photos at Shelley Lake here in Raleigh NC! Their sunset session was full of romance and silliness. These two are clearly perfect for each other and we had a blast as they frolicked through the forest and around the lake. These two make one hell of a team and I am so excited for them and their future together!
I have waited SO long to take these engagement portraits! Kristin and Kenny booked me and we have all been waiting patiently for this session.
Candace is a wonderful woman who was getting married and in need of a quick gift to give to her future hubby! I reached out to my homie, Kassy for help with hair and makeup and we spent the morning glamming and posing! Candace was just so awesome to work with. Her confidence just filled the room and it was hard not to leave this session feeling on top of the world #contagiousconfidence. This woman has energy for days and was not shy about how much she loved her life! We rolled through this session and made sure to produce classy portraits that we just knew her fiance would love! Good thing we worked quick, because someone decided to come home early. Which leads me to an important note: Dear Gents, if your wife/girlfriend/life partner is purchasing new lingerie and kicks you out of the house for the day, trust her, haha! She's with me and you will thank her later for it!
Sarah is many things. A brilliant woman in tech, web designer, hilarious, athletic and sexy are just a few ways to describe her. I met her at her home in Raleigh and instantly connected with her. She is a strong woman in a male dominated industry and proud of it. She even takes time out of her schedule to speak with young women and girls that are interested and motivated to join the Silicon Valley of the South. I was inspired by how comfortable she was in her own skin, just being herself. Sarah's session was an amazing way to start off 2018!
n 2014, I had the pleasure of being Kim's first boudoir client! Of course, like any woman, I was concerned with the way I looked. Kim made it extremely easy for me to get comfortable. We played music, drank a beer and had some good laughs. I really enjoyed the photos she took of me that day and realize that "Wow, they actually look amazing!" Here we are, three years later and so much has changed in my life. I am now engaged, I just came off from traveling full time (Monday-Friday) for two whole years and I'm about to turn the BIG 3-0! I wanted to surprise my fiance with this photo shoot as a wedding gift and I had a lot going on between getting married, work, family life but made sometime to do another photo shoot! I decided to take advantage of Kim's annual Boudoir Blitz!
Sitting in front of me in that moment was this stunning woman who is extremely talented and quirky in the best way possible. She has this amazing figure and eyes that literally stops people in their tracks and she doesn't see any of this. I made it my mission to drop hints at a boudoir session every chance I got and finally she reached out to me, under the guise of a surprise anniversary session for her husband. Now, as much as I knew this was for hubby, I knew more than anything it was going to be a major breakthrough for Kassy.
Prior to knowing whether I would need chemotherapy, I had to make the choice to remove both my breast or have a lumpectomy with radiation. My personal choice was a double mastectomy. When you are in that moment, it's all about survival.
